This training will provide candidates a clear understanding of regulations and standard on lifting operations, correct procedure in designing a lift plan, preparation of a lift such as selecting appropriate lifting gears, methods of calculating capacity on every lifting equipment involve in the operation and the roles and responsibilities. During the course, candidates will be given scenarios on which they will analyze each for the safe procedure that must be followed and select the appropriate lifting gears which will be needed to execute the safe lifting procedure as per result the lift planning. The course incorporates theory discussions and practical exercises. Objectives At the end of the each modules, participants will be able to: Day 1 • Demonstrate and State the use of hand signals • Identify crane types and their major components. • Understand the standards and regulations in preparing and performing a critical lift. • State function of and inspections requirements for rigging hardware • State the function of, inspection requirement and, inspect manual hoisting equipment and slings • Identify basic hitches • Select the correct hitch arrangement for a load • Determine appropriate sling size for hitch arrangement Day 2 • Determine the weight of the load to the nearest whole unit • Calculate areas and volumes of loads to the nearest whole unit • Convert metric units of length, area, and weight to English units and vice versa. • Determine lift radii to the nearest whole metric or English unit • Determine minimum boom tip height required for each lift • Determine lift radii and boom lengths for any lift • Determine the maximum lift capacity • Identify factors which reduce crane capacity • Identify and defines lift radius, boom angle, boom length, and quadrants of operation without error. • Determine the required minimum lift parameter values for lifts. • State the effect of increasing or decreasing lift parameters. Riggers also act as signalman.crane rigging safety training course teaches employees the safe way to handle crane rigging and all the hazards associated with using cranes while at work. Cranes are used at many workplaces, across all major industries, to lift and move materials. Crane operators are generally trained and often certified in safe crane operations and inspection. However, many accidents involving cranes are caused by failures of crane rigging and rigging hardware. What is the safety factor for cranes? Usually marked on the equipment by the manufacturer. It is a calculation of the Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) aka Minimum Breaking Load (MBL) divided by a safety factor, usually ranging from 4 to 6 on lifting equipment. The factor can be as high as 10:1 or 10 to 1, if the equipment poses a risk to a person's life. What is Crane rigger? A rigger is a skilled tradesperson who specializes in the assistance of manual mechanical advantage device comprising pulley, block and tackle or motorised such as a crane or derrick or chain hoists (chain fall) or capstan winch. What is called rigging? Rigging comprises the system of ropes, cables and chains, which support a sailing ship or sail boat's masts—standing rigging, including shrouds and stays—and which adjust the position of the vessel's sails and spars to which they are attached—the running rigging, including halyards, braces, sheets and vangs. There is certainly a lot to learn about rigging a crane; that’s why crane rigging is often referred to as an art, and it takes years of practice to be a true expert.Because lifts often present new situations that require thought and sound decisions, you should never be bored at work! It is important that you continue to learn and find out all you can about the practice of rigging cranes. As you learn, keep in mind that you need to be cautious at all times, and think safety. It is up to you to never allow a lift that you even suspect could be unsafe. Finally, while unusual lifts may require special thought, even routine lifts can be deadly if a sling fails or if the rigger forgets to fasten the crane hook. That’s why it is essential that you follow all procedures every time, and think safety. Electricians may be employed in the installation of new electrical components or the maintenance and repair of existing electrical infrastructure.[1] Electricians may also specialize in wiring ships, airplanes, and other mobile platforms, as well as data and cable lines.Electricians were originally people who demonstrated or studied the principles of electricity, often electrostatic generators of one form or another. In the United States, electricians are divided into two primary categories: linemen, who work on electric utility company distribution systems at higher voltages, and wiremen, who work with the lower voltages utilized inside buildings. Wiremen are generally trained in one of five primary specialties: commercial, residential, light industrial, industrial, and low-voltage wiring, more commonly known as Voice-Data-Video, or VDV. Other sub-specialties such as control wiring and fire-alarm may be performed by specialists trained in the devices being installed, or by inside wiremen.Electricians are trained to one of three levels: Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master Electrician. In the US and Canada, apprentices work and receive a reduced compensation while learning their trade. They generally take several hundred hours of classroom instruction and are contracted to follow apprenticeship standards for a period of between three and six years, during which time they are paid as a percentage of the Journeyman's pay. Journeymen are electricians who have completed their Apprenticeship and who have been found by the local, State, or National licensing body to be competent in the electrical trade. Master Electricians have performed well in the trade for a period of time, often seven to ten years, and have passed an exam to demonstrate superior knowledge of the National Electrical Code, or NEC.Service electricians are tasked to respond to requests for isolated repairs and upgrades. "Electrician" is also used as the name of a role in stagecraft, where electricians are tasked primarily with hanging, focusing, and operating stage lighting. In this context, the Master Electrician is the show's chief electrician. Although theater electricians routinely perform electrical work on stage lighting instruments and equipment, they are not part of the electrical trade and have a different set of skills and qualifications from the electricians that work on building wiring.
