Respected Facing Problems Viewers ! Autism involves atypical brain development which often becomes apparent in behavior & social development before a child is three years old. It can be characterized by impairments in social interaction & communication, as well as restricted interests & stereotyped behavior, & the characterization is independent of any underlying neurological defects. This article uses the terms autism and ASD to denote classical autism and the wider dispersion of symptoms & manifestations of autism, respectively. Autism's theory of causation is incomplete It has long been presumed that there is a common cause at the genetic, cognitive, and neural levels for autism's characteristic triad of symptoms. However, there is increasing suspicion among researchers that autism does not have a single cause, but is instead a complex disorder with a set of core aspects that have distinct causes. Different underlying brain dysfunctions have been hypothesized to result in the common symptoms of autism, just as completely different brain problems result in intellectual disability. The terms autism or ASDs capture the wide range of disease processes at work Although these distinct causes have been hypothesized to often co-occur it has also been suggested that the correlation between the causes has been exaggerated. The number of people known to have autism has increased dramatically since the 1980s, at least partly due to changes in diagnostic practice. It is unknown whether prevalence has increased as well The consensus among mainstream autism researchers is that genetic factors predominate. Environmental factors that have been claimed to contribute to autism or exacerbate its symptoms, or that may be important to consider in future research, include certain foods, infectious disease, heavy metals, solvents, diesel exhaust,PCBs, phthalates and phenols used in plastic products, pesticides, brominated flame retardants, alcohol, smoking and as well as dust particles around Regards from' Akhtar Hayat (Ex PAF) Oxfordcadets Team' J Block Gulberg iii Lahore skype id oxfordcadets whatsap +92 333 4/6/3/3/ 9/9/0 updates on sms 342 37 25 1/2/9 for more information call on 333 4/3/4/9/5/2/2 and 307 4/4/7/7/9/9/0

Most Respected Viewers ! its all about the Types/ Risk / Factors / Symptoms / Screening Treatment & Prevention What Is Down Syndrome? Down syndrome (sometimes spelled “Down’s syndrome”) is a genetic abnormality. It is the most common single cause of birth defects in the United States This syndrome occurs because of an extra copy of chromosome 21. Your chromosomes contain your genetic material, & any problems with your chromosomes can cause serious physical and mental health problems Down syndrome causes lifelong developmental delays that can range from moderate to severe. It cannot be cured, but there are options. Down syndrome can be managed with educational interventions, specialized parenting techniques, and community engagement. These all can encourage a person with Down syndrome to develop life skills and social bonds, so that they can live a long (many Down syndrome patients live past the age of 50) and fulfilling life. Causes What Causes Down Syndrome? Down syndrome is e genetic disorder. TO understand how it happens, we first need to understand some basic genetics. In all cases of reproduction, both parents pass their genes on to their children. These genes are carried on chromosomes. When the baby’s cells develop, each cell is supposed to receive 23 pairs of chromosomes. Half of the chromosomes are from the mother and half from the father. In children with Down syndrome, one of the chromosomes does not separate properly. The baby ends up with three copies of chromosome 21 instead of two. This extra chromosome causes problems as the brain and physical features develop. Types Types of Down Syndrome There are three types of Down syndrome: Trisomy 21 Trisomy 21 means there is an extra copy of chromosome 21 in every cell. This is the most common form of Down syndrome. Mosaicism Mosaicism means there is an extra chromosome in some but not all of a child’s cells. Individuals with mosaic Down syndrome tend to have fewer symptoms. Translocation In this condition, children have only an extra part of chromosome 21. There are 46 total chromosomes. However, one of them has an extra piece of chromosome 21 attached. Risk Factors Will My Child Be at Risk for Down Syndrome? Certain parents have a greater risk of giving birth to a child with Down syndrome: women age 35 and older males 50 and older people with a family history of Down’s syndrome people who carry the genetic translocation Symptoms What Are the Symptoms of Down Syndrome? During pregnancy, there are no signs that a child will have Down syndrome. At birth, babies with Down syndrome usually have certain characteristic signs, including: flat facial features small head and ears short neck bulging tongue eyes that slant upward oddly shaped ears poor muscle tone A Down syndrome infant can be born a normal size. However development is twice as slow as for an unaffected child. There is usually some degree of mental retardation, but it is often mild to moderate. Mental and social development delays may mean that the child will have: impulsive behavior poor judgment short attention span slow learning capabilities Medical complications often accompany Down syndrome. These are caused by the extra chromosome. These may include: congenital heart defects hearing loss poor vision cataracts (clouded eyes) hip problems, such as dislocations leukemia chronic constipation sleep apnea (interrupted breathing during sleep) dementia (thought and memory problems) hypothyroidism (low thyroid function) obesity late tooth growth, causing problems with chewing Today, despite the medical and developmental delays, a child born with Down syndrome can live past the age of 50 (Mayo Clinic). Screening Screening for Down Syndrome During Pregnancy Screening is offered as a routine part of prenatal care in the United States. However, it is not required. First Trimester An ultrasound evaluation and blood tests can look for Down syndrome in your fetus. These tests are done between the 10th and 14th week of pregnancy. An ultrasound looks at the back of the baby’s neck, called the nuchal translucency. If there are problems with the baby’s development, more fluid collects in this area. Blood tests looks at the level of pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) and human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). High levels of these proteins suggest a developmental problem. These tests have a higher false-positive rate than tests done at later pregnancy stages. If results are not normal, your doctor may follow up with an amniocentesis. In this test, an amniotic fluid sample is used to confirm the results. Second Trimester An ultrasound and quadruple marker screen (QMS) test can help identify Down syndrome and other neural tube defects. This test is done between 15 and 20 weeks. These tests measures four pregnancy-related factors: human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) unconjugated estriol alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) inhibin-A If any of these tests are not normal, you will be considered at high risk for birth defects. Additional Prenatal Tests Your doctor may order additional tests to detect Down syndrome in your baby: amniocentesis: Your doctor takes a sample of amniotic fluid to examine the number of chromosomes the baby has. The test is usually done at 15 weeks. It carries a one in 200 miscarriage risk. chorionic villus sampling (CVS): Your doctor will take cells from your placenta to analyze fetal chromosomes. This test is done during the ninth and 14th week of pregnancy. It carries a miscarriage risk of one in 100. percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS): Your doctor will take blood from the umbilical cord and examine it for chromosomal defects. It is done after the 18th week of pregnancy. It carries an even higher rate of miscarriage, so it is performed only if all other tests are uncertain. Some women choose not to undergo these tests, because of the risk of miscarriage. They would rather risk having a child with Down syndrome than losing the pregnancy. Tests at Birth At birth, your doctor will: perform a physical examination of your baby order a blood test called a karyotype to confirm Down syndrome Treatment Treating Down Syndrome There is no cure for Down syndrome. However, parents can provide early intervention and opportunities to help their child with Down syndrome succeed. Early intervention programs promote a child’s learning. They offer the best chance for success. In these programs, special education teachers and therapists will help your child learn: sensory skills social skills self-help motor skills language and cognitive abilities Children with Down syndrome often meet age-related milestones. However, this may take up to two times longer than for other children. A team of physicians and specialists can help provide medical care and manage the medical complications. Because obesity can be particularly dangerous to the health of children with Down syndrome, it is important to encourage physical activity and avoid high-calorie foods. However, before beginning exercise or sports, the child’s hip, neck, and spine should be examined. It is important to teach children with Down syndrome about being independent and staying safe. Parents should establish a support network in the family and community. Learn as much as possible about your child’s condition. This can help you understand what it means as your child grows and develops. Many people with Down syndrome lead successful lives in their community. They often go to school, hold jobs, and become independent. Prevention Preventing Down Syndrome There is no way to prevent Down syndrome. You may want to speak with a genetic counselor: before having a child, to see if you are at risk if you already have a child with Down syndrome and are considering getting pregnant again Regards from' Oxfordcadets Team J Block Firdos Market Gulberg iii Lahore skype id oxfordcadets g mail oxfordcadets at g mail dot com whatsapp +92 333 4/6/3/3/9/9/0 Get Updates on + 92 342 37 2 5 129

AC Technician Practical training Diploma Course in Wah, Bannu International college of technical education offers national and international courses the best institute of college of pakistan. The admission open will started soon . 03115193625, AC technicians install, maintain and repair cooling systems. They might also be trained in heating and ventilation systems. Their job requires working with electrical components, motors, compressors and even ductwork. To work as an AC technician requires knowing state and local regulations and safety procedures. AC technicians, also called air conditioning mechanics and installers, specialize in the installation, maintenance or repair of air conditioning units in homes. Although technicians tend to specialize in one of the two areas, they are trained to be able to both install and perform maintenance/repairs on AC units. Today, most HVAC technicians begin by taking courses at a technical school or community college. Shorter programs may last only six months and result in an HVAC technician certificate. HVAC work can be hard. It's very physical going up and down ladders carrying ducting, screw gun screws tape, fiberglass wrap, cutters, saws snips etc. And you're dealing with sharp edged objects, power tools, old fiberglass, dirty rooms and ducts. You will get dirty and you will bust your butt. There are some more serious risks for HVAC workers that could be potentially fatal. They can be exposed to Carbon Monoxide which can be poisonous. As HVAC technicians frequently come into contact with wiring, they risk being electrocuted. They can also suffer other types of burns and abrasions to the skin. You might not expect to see the HVAC trade listed as one of the most stressful professions. But the work is physically demanding, and working in tight, dark, and dirty spaces can pose a variety of mental and physical challenges. HVAC technicians need math to calculate the correct load requirements to ensure equipment properly heats or cools. But in addition to the classes you will take, you should also develop these qualities and skills: Customer service – You'll often work in customers' homes or business offices. To be certified as a Plumber, you usually need to complete a four-year apprenticeship program. Once you successfully complete the required on-the-job training, technical training and exams, you are awarded a journeyperson certificate. Your heating and cooling system relies on electrical connections to heat up and operate properly. As connections get older, they can come loose, which can burn the wires and cause a fire. If you notice any warning signs, such as burning odors or smoke coming from the furnace, call an HVAC technician. AC Technician Practical training Diploma Course in Rahim Yar Khan International college of technical education offers national and international courses the best institute of college. The admission open will started soon, 03115193625. AC technicians, also called air conditioning mechanics and installers, specialize in the installation, maintenance or repair of air conditioning units in homes. Although technicians tend to specialize in one of the two areas, they are trained to be able to both install and perform maintenance/repairs on AC units. HVAC work can be hard. It's very physical going up and down ladders carrying ducting, screw gun screws tape, fiberglass wrap, cutters, saws snips etc. Prerequisites vary by state, but candidates will typically need of work experience as an apprentice to sit for the journeyman exam. Some states allow classroom hours to be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement. Whether any profession is good is largely subjective -- carpentry might be right for lots of people but that doesn't mean it's suited to you. But you can decide if carpentry is good for you based on objective facts. Carpenters may earn slightly less than the average for all workers but they have strong job prospects. When a unit stops cooling, interior temperatures can soar rapidly, especially during the late spring through early fall. This is considered an HVAC emergency, particularly if there are young children, pets or elderly family members in the home. HVAC technicians solve problems by examining and repairing different kinds of heating, cooling, and ventilation technology. When you work in HVAC technology, you can see the direct result of your knowledge and skills on the technology in front of you. The qualifications to become a commercial HVAC service technician are a high school diploma or GED certificate followed by completion of a certificate program, an associate degree program, or apprenticeship in HVAC technology. In some states, you need a license to work as an HVAC technician. You'll always have a job. HVAC is a service-oriented profession, but you're not just helping other people by choosing a career in heating and air, you're also doing yourself a service. The HVAC industry is stable because as long as there are buildings, they will need skilled professionals to keep them in working order. Caregivers work in the home and help their clients with daily activities, such as bathing and bathroom functions, feeding, grooming, taking medication, and some housework. Caregivers help clients make and keep appointments with doctors, provide or arrange transportation and serve as a companion for their clients. What are the duties and responsibilities of a caregiver? Caregiver duties and responsibilities Serving as a companion to clients. Transporting clients to and from appointments, errands and activities. Managing medication. Preparing meals and shopping for groceries or other essentials. Providing care across a variety of settings, including group homes and day service programs. a good caregiver is attentive and responds to situations in a timely manner. A patient, especially the elderly, needs constant care and attention. It's the caregiver's job, therefore, to be attuned to those needs even if the patient doesn't or is unable to communicate them. a good caregiver is creative and innovative. Engaging the attention of patients is not easy if they are given the same activities day in and day out. Therefore, it is necessary for a caregiver to be creative in the activities he or she comes up with. The activities should be creative enough to keep the patient interested, involved, and excited. It’s also essential for the caregiver to be innovative because each patient is unique. A technique that works on one may not work on another. a good caregiver is committed and dependable. Commitment to one’s job means that you can be depended on by the patient and the patient’s family. These are crucial traits because more often than not, the patient is left entirely in the caregiver’s hands. a good caregiver is supportive and encouraging. Every caregiver should be able to identify the kind of support the patient needs and to provide them. It’s also important for the caregiver to be encouraging because this is necessary in helping patients achieve more than what they think their capabilities allow. This is particularly helpful for older patients who need to perform regular physical and mental exercises so they can stay in shape. a good caregiver is honest and trustworthy. Honesty and trustworthiness are indispensable qualities in a caregiver, particularly with the live in ones who are entrusted with not only the patient’s health care but also the patient’s home and resources. a good caregiver is able to maintain confidentiality. Part of a caregiver’s job is to be privy to a lot of information about the patient and the patient’s family. A good caregiver knows how to keep things to himself or herself unless divulging the information is essential for the safety, well-being, and protection of the patient. a good caregiver has a sense of humor. Having a sense of humor is a good indicator that a caregiver is able to tolerate and deal with difficult situations, which is essential because caregiving involves conditions that more people would find hard or challenging. A caregiver with a sense of humor also makes the atmosphere around the patient light and comfortable and this helps with the overall well-being of the patient and the caregiver as well. a good caregiver is capable of being emotionally tough. As humans, it’s very difficult for caregivers not to be emotionally affected by their patients. It’s also natural for a caregiver to form a genuine bond with his or her patient, which helps the caregiver perform his or her job better. However, this bond could be a downside, especially if the patient is suffering from a severe disease or is dying. The caregiver needs to maintain a strong outward attitude despite his or her emotional sufferings for the ultimate benefit of the patient. a good caregiver should be physically fit and have a strong constitution. Patients that caregivers look after are often too frail to do everyday things on their own so it is important for a caregiver to have the physical strength or stamina to assist his or her ward when it’s time for a bath or if the patient needs to move from one room to another. Additionally, a major part of caregiving involves dealing with the patient’s bodily functions, which are sometimes uncontrollable. A good caregiver accepts this part of his or her job with patience, dignity, and respect for the patient. a good caregiver is able to perform light housekeeping. Preparing nutritious food, cleaning, doing the laundry, and running errands are some of the things that a caregiver needs to do as part of his or her responsibilities to the patient. Some caregivers even go beyond the call of duty performing tasks, such as taking care of their patient’s grandchildren who visit or looking after their patients’ plants or pets. a good caregiver is experienced in monitoring a patient’s vital signs, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration. Knowing how to monitor and interpret a patient’s vital signs is an essential skill, especially if the patient is suffering from a particular medical condition. a good caregiver is able to keep track of the patient’s medication and when medicines should be taken. Patients often forget to take their medicines or they forget which ones to take so it’s the caregiver’s job to make sure that his or her ward is drinking the right medicine at the right time. a good caregiver is a consummate professional. Caregivers are not robots so it’s normal to expect that they will have “off” days due to a variety of reasons. However, it’s important not to let personal issues get in the way of their professional responsibilities. While this may be very hard, especially if the personal problem is serious and difficult to ignore, a caregiver’s first responsibility is to see to the needs of his or her patient. If the caregiver feels that he or she cannot perform his or her duties without personal emotions getting in the way, then proper arrangements need to be made so the patient will not be negatively impacted by the circumstances. Being a qualified caregiver involves more than just having adequate training and experience because many capable caregivers have had little or no formal education or background in the field. They, however, possess the qualities in this list and the sincere desire to help their patients to the best of their abilities

Workplace hazards Although work provides many economic and other benefits, a wide array of workplace hazards also present risks to the health and safety of people at work. These include but are not limited to, "chemicals, biological agents, physical factors, adverse ergonomic conditions, allergens, a complex network of safety risks," and a broad range of psychosocial risk factors. Personal protective equipment can help protect against many of these hazards. Physical hazards Affect many people in the workplace. Occupational hearing loss is the most common work-related injury in the United States, with 22 million workers exposed to hazardous noise levels at work and an estimated $242 million spent annually on worker's compensation for hearing loss disability. Falls are also a common cause of occupational injuries and fatalities, especially in construction, extraction, transportation, healthcare, and building cleaning and maintenance. Machines have moving parts, sharp edges, hot surfaces and other hazards with the potential to crush, burn, cut, shear, stab or otherwise strike or wound workers if used unsafely. Biological hazards Biohazards include infectious microorganisms such as viruses and toxins produced by those organisms such as anthrax. Biohazards affect workers in many industries; influenza, for example, affects a broad population of workers. Outdoor workers, including farmers, landscapers, and construction workers, risk exposure to numerous biohazards, including animal bites and stings, urushiol from poisonous plants, and diseases transmitted through animals such as the West Nile virus and Lyme disease. Health care workers, including veterinary health workers, risk exposure to blood-borne pathogens and various infectious diseases, especially those that are emerging. Dangerous chemicals Can pose a chemical hazard in the workplace. There are many classifications of hazardous chemicals, including neurotoxins, immune agents, dermatologic agents, carcinogens, reproductive toxins, systemic toxins, asthmagens, pneumoconiotic agents, and sensitizers. Authorities such as regulatory agencies set occupational exposure limits to mitigate the risk of chemical hazards. An international effort is investigating the health effects of mixtures of chemicals. There is some evidence that certain chemicals are harmful at lower levels when mixed with one or more other chemicals. This may be particularly important in causing cancer. Psychosocial hazards Include risks to the mental and emotional well-being of workers, such as feelings of job insecurity, long work hours, and poor work-life balance. A recent Cochrane review - using moderate quality evidence - related that the addition of work-directed interventions for depressed workers receiving clinical interventions reduces the number of lost work days as compared to clinical interventions alone. This review also demonstrated that the addition of cognitive behavioral therapy to primary or occupational care and the addition of a "structured telephone outreach and care management program" to usual care are both effective at reducing sick leave days. ICTE International College of Technical Education. Head Office : Office # 27, Second Floor, Maryam Shadi Hall Plaza (Airies Plaza), Shamsabad, Murree Road, Rawalpindi, Pakistan 46000. Email : info@icollegete.com Contact : 051-8736681, 0311-5193625, 0092-335-4176949 Food safety refers to routines in the preparation, handling and storage of food meant to prevent foodborne illness and injury. From farm to factory to fork, food products may encounter any number of health hazards during their journey through the supply chain.foodborne diseases. Most of the time, the food handler is the one who intervenes as the vehicle of transmission of these diseases, so it is important that we take into account the great role we play in prevention. The training of food handlers is mandatory and will allow you to obtain a certificate that will accredit you as a food handler, allowing you to work in the food industry. Although it is not mandatory, it is recommended to renew the certificate every 4 years, and to be updated according to the job. Then, the company itself should offer a specific training in its sector. A food handler is anyone who, through their work activity, has direct contact with food during any of its phases until it reaches the final consumer. This includes: preparation, manufacture, processing, packaging, storage, transport, distribution, sale, supply and service. This training course will enable you to perform food handling functions, and you should be responsible with this information, as the health of many consumers depends on you.According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being, and not just the absence of physical discomfort or illness. So what is food hygiene? It is the group of measures needed to ensure food safety from farm to table, that is, from the moment they are obtained until they reach the final consumer. Therefore, we define food-borne disease as any disease caused by consuming contaminated food. It is important to maintain good food hygiene, as it will lead not only to a safer handling of food, but also to a good reputation for the company, increased customer satisfaction, and we will also avoid possible penalties from health authorities.FOOD CONTAMINATION. TYPES OF CONTAMINANTS AND HAZARDS. What is food contamination? A contaminant or a food hazard is any foreign agent to the food that is capable of producing a negative effect on the health of the consumer.According to their origin the hazards are classified into: Physics: bones, crystals, personal effects, etc. Chemicals: toxic substances, cleaning products, etc. Biological: living beings such as insects, rodents, birds, microorganisms, etc. The main food contamination sources are: The environment Pests: living beings. Utensils and premises: poor hygiene. Garbage. The food handler himself: due to lack of hygiene. Other foods: this is very important, as we are talking about cross-Contamination (transfer of contaminants from one food to another). It can be given by mixing raw and cooked foods, or using the same utensils for different foods.Microorganisms act as a source of infection or food hazard. But what are microorganisms? They are also called germs or microbes and are living beings so small that they are invisible to the human eye. Let’s list them according to the harm they can cause: Beneficial: they are used for food processing. Disruptive: they «warn» us of their presence, since they change the odour, colour, flavour and normal texture of the food. Patogens: These are the most dangerous because at first glance they do not change the food properties. They are mainly responsible for food-borne diseases. What do they need to live? Nutrients: food. Water. Heat. Acidity: as acidity increases, they become less contaminated by bacteria.. Oxygen: some bacteria live on oxygen (most of them), but others also grow without it. Time: the more time passes, the more they multiply and the greater the risk. The most frequent symptoms are general discomfort, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. But the most dangerous ones can cause serious injuries and even death. What food is more dangerous or likely to become contaminated? Those that pose a MAJOR RISK are: Minced meat. Fresh fish, shellfish and molluscs. Raw products. Fowl and Poultry. Egg-based dishes (use of raw eggs is prohibited). Pastry or bakery goods (especially those containing cream). The maximum time a food retains all its organoleptic, nutritional and health properties is called shelf life. The most frequent and traditional conservation systems used are: By cooling: refrigeration (Between 0º and 5ºC), freezing (less than -18ºC). The COLD CHAIN (or cool chain) must be maintained always. It consists of maintaining the cold (refrigeration or freezing) throughout the entire process through which the food passes: production, transport, reception, storage, sale to the consumer. If the correct temperature is not maintained during the whole process, the food will suffer IRREVERSIBLE consequences. By heating: microorganisms are destroyed by heat. The most popular methods are: pasteurization, cooking, sterilization and ultra-pasteurization. Removing part of the water from the food: drying, salting, curing, sugaring, smoking. Others: pickling, use of preservatives. ICTE International College of Technical Education.
