This course focuses on the design process from visualization to production, combining design
principles with software, typography, digital illustration, digital imaging, page layout, and
prepress techniques. Students will be responsible for designing and producing campaigns that
consist of projects with multiple components across multiple media formats. Individual and
collaborative work is expected, including branding, packaging, and interactive media
prototyping. Each student is responsible for product design, critique, and feedback, as well as
creating portfolios and presentations. Graphic design, also known as communication design, is
the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences using visual and textual
content. This course focuses on both theoretical and practical parts. The purpose of this course
is to give trainees a sense of design through theoretical concepts and practice. Graphic design
is the expression of ideas using visual content such as typography, color palettes,
illustrations, and images. This helps brands visually communicate with their audience. Graphic
design is not just for brand aesthetics. Still, communicating what the brand stands for goes a
long way in creating a sense of understanding between the brand and its audience. From the cover
of your favorite book, to the packaging of your favorite chocolate bar, to the visual aesthetics
of the website you read, have you ever wondered who makes it all? If you're reading this
content, you probably already know the answer. If not, please let me know. Graphic designers are
behind most of us humans. Many institutions also offer free graphic design courses for students
interested in design.
