The Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating* program teaches the skills needed to diagnose, maintain and repair residential air conditioning and commercial air conditioning, heating and cooling equipment. Students learn refrigeration by working with freezers, refrigerators, and ice machines. Federal standards for ecological reclamation and recycling are taught. In the air conditioning and heating portion of the course, students learn current technologies related to central air conditioning and window units, heat pumps, gas and oil furnaces, and related piping. Air conditioners use chemicals that can easily be converted from gas to liquid and vice versa. This chemical is used to transfer heat from the air inside the house to the air outside. The machine has three main parts. They are the compressor, condenser and evaporator. The compressor and condenser are usually located in the outdoor air section of the air conditioner. The evaporator is located inside the house, sometimes as part of the furnace. This is the part that heats our home.

The trainee will be trained to identify the customer's requirement through interaction with the customer, install and demonstrate the product to the customer's satisfaction, successfully repair the product to the customer's satisfaction and obtain their signatures on the work sheet and collect any payment, in accordance with company policies Follow standard operating procedures for different types of air conditioners, Demonstrate the soft skills necessary to perform the job effectively and Follow standard safety procedures to maintain a safe work area. The individual should be freed from socio-economic prejudices and preferences. The trainee should be proficient in the handling and safety awareness and use of safety equipment. The intern should be energetic, motivating, innovative and good at communication. The trainer should be able to use innovative ways to deliver instructions and build rapport with trainees.
